Opiate was comprised of an eclectic group of musicians from all over the Midwest. They have written music for nearly a decade, and have always remained focused on what their music means, rather than cleaving to a gimmick or being flashy or overly complicated. Their influences span death metal, classical & baroque, punk, grindcore, progressive rock, and jam. Having shared the stage with such acts as Lamb of God, Megadeth, Gwar, In Flames, Cannibal Corpse, and The Black Dahlia Murder, Opiate has proved their muster and paid their dues ten-fold. They are sorry that it had to end.
