Oposium are fast becoming known as "the band who threw their piano in the sea". An anthemic alternative rock band who are all about doing something extraodinary, Oposium never do things by halves. With 4 top class musicians, the band are not only developing a reputation for being flexible, but also for producing virtuoso music that differs everytime the band play.
Although forming originally in 2005, 2007 proved to be the year that everything seriously began for Oposium. Easter 07 saw the band sailing their psychadelic blue piano into the sea off Branksome Chine beach in Poole under the guidance of the Mayor of Poole, Councillor Mrs Judy Butt herself. The result was the video for Behind The Rain, the track which won Oposium Roland UKs Unsigned Artist Competition in June. That track was released on an EP along with 4 other tunes.
2008 involved a lot of studio work during which the band extended their EP into a full length 12 track album called Life Under The Sun. However, not satisfied with just getting on and playing music, Oposium also burnt a couple of pianos towards the end of the year in another dramatic piece of performance art.
2009 will see Life Under The Sun released onto all major digital vendors including Itunes, as well as being released in store to HMV. If you can't wait til release day, the album is available to buy prerelease from the Oposium website at store.oposium.com or preview the album trailer below.
