I started recording as the Alienist in the 80's, using mainly looped sounds and synth drones, and manipulations thereon. Sometimes I perform in duo or trio with Thomas Henry and Evan Leed--as heard on the CD-r's "Interference/Genma" and "Drone Aktion Trio." Thus far I (or we) have performed alongside artists such as Thirdorgan, Nightstick, Anthony Saunders/Dataclast, Vegas Martyrs, Pleasurehorse, mOdnAr, Moe Greene, Dave Phillips, Justice Yeldham, 2673, Agents at Midnight, Sickness, Jim Sauter and Don Dietrich, Pilotram, Cabbage, Death by a Thousand Cuts, Lunch With Beardo, Wetwork, Leaky Fields/Shayne Bowden and Zero Reality.
The new project is Sacrupture. It's a departure from ambient style to a rough, messy, fun style of noise. The first release is a Recycled Music tape on RRRecords.
Opposite Records was launched in 2001 and has released CD's and CD-r's by Merzbow, KK Null, Death's Head Quartet, Spacebar, and Lap Dancer as well as the Alienist. The next CD is from Junko/Urabe/Henritzi.
