| General | Opry West is a monthly music show featuring the best singers, songwriters and musicians that California and the world has to offer. The show is filmed live before a studio audience and webcast live on streaming audio/video. There will be interview portions of the show as well as humorous segments as well..... A "House Band" featuring some of the best musicians in the world will back-up the artists.
The best of Country, Rock, Blues, Alt Country, Americana, Folk, Bluegrass, and everything in between.
Each month will feature three to five different acts, each from a different genre. All ages are welcome.
Live in Livermore California.
Your host Gary Tackett is a world class musician who has performed or recorded with the likes of Merle Haggard, Vern Gosdin, Billy Curringon, Tammy Cochran, and played every venue from the Oakland Coliseum to the Grand Ol Opry which is where this show was inspired. Gary was also Regional Licensing Director for SESAC in Nashville and has held several executive positions as Sales Director/Business Development Director for several major compaies. "We need a show like this on the West Coast to feature singers, songwriters and bands locally and also have a place for national artists to further market their new albums, tours as well". |

OPRYWEST SHOW SCHEDULED FOR DECEMBER 30th HAS BEEN POSTPONED UNTIL APRIL. WE ARE GOING TO RESCHEDULE THE SHOW FOR APRIL: STAY TUNED!
OpryWest is a new monthly concert series featuring the best local and national singers, songwriters, and bands. OpryWest is the brainchild of singer/songwriter/guitarist Gary Tackett, who has played on the Grand Ol Opry stage many times. Gary has toured and recorded with some of the most famous artists in the music business, such as Merle Haggard, Vern Gosdin, Eddy Raven, Tammy Cochran, and Billy Currington. Gary now makes his home in the Bay Area.
“I knew we needed a vehicle to show the rest of the world how much talent California has to offer. There are so many great singers, songwriters, and bands, all trying to make their mark. This is an opportunity for them to showcase their talents in a professional studio environment. Think Grand Ol Opry meets Austin City Limits meets Soundstage meets Hee Haw!”
The OpryWest house band, the Calbillys featuring some of the best musicians in the Bay Area, will perform each month, along with carefully selected acts. Each show will be a three camera film shoot in front of a live audience of 500, so it will feel like a private concert. Acoustic “in the round” performances, full bands, and singers using the Calbillys will be mixed during the show.
The host of OpryWest features the infamous singer/songwriter from Nashville Antsy McClain (Trailer Park Troubadours www.myspace.com/thetroubs), whose song “Living In Aluminum” was featured in the new Larry The Cable Guy movie “Witless Protection.” Antsy will perform a few of his well-known classics as well as some new songs. Gary (Garage Sale) Tackett just happens to play guitar with the Trailer Park Troubadours on their West Coast dates.
Upcoming shows will feature Tony Lindsay (lead singer w/Santana), hit songwriter Steve Seskin, Dave Russell Band, and many others.
