Formed in 1996 in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, Optimal Impact has become one of Western Canada's top club draws and recording acts. Having performed 100's of club dates and sharing the stage with such legendary artists as Streetheart, Prism, Chilliwack, April Wine. Helix and Dr. Hook, the group's popularity continues to grow. Releasing it's debut CD in 1999 entitled "Sun Sittin'" (produced by legendary vocalist Billy Cowsill) Optimal Impact had wowed audiences throughout Western Canada. The group is currently writing material for two follow up albums to be released in 2006 and 2007 repectively. The first album is be recorded in Vancouver in September of 2006 and will be produced by the multi-platinum and JUNO award winning vocalist for Prism, Al Harlow. The second album will be recorded in the summer of 2007 and will be produced by former Nazareth guitarist Manny Charlton. Having gone through a number of line-up changes over the past few years, including the departures of Mark Stevenson and Dan Bertrand in March 2006 and May 2006 repectively and the May 2006 addition of Carl Fogarty on Bass Guitar, the group's line-up is now as solid as it has ever been. The songwriting for the new album is almost complete and the group will begin pre-production work in June 2006. The songs are the the best that the Optimal Impact has ever offered up with the basic sound remaining the same as the fans are used to, with a few surprises that will sure to excite fans both new and old.
October 16, 2006 - With the recording completed on the new album on September 15th, Optimal Impact is now awaiting the engineering types to finish off the final mixes of the upcoming "Falling Rock" album. With the superb producing skills of Al Harlow and Jim Meyer, the boys are quite excited (and anxious) to hear the finshed product. They are especially exited to hear the amazing guitar work that "Headpins" lead guitarist Tony Della Croce recorded. With over three hours of amazing takes, it has been very difficult for the production team to pick out the best takes to use on the album. Keep an eye on the tour dates section, as Tony will be performing with Optimal Impact the next time they open for The Headpins. Honest, Darby and Bernie said it was OK.
2007 has seen the return of founding bassist Brad Cronk into the fold. Carl Fogarty has had the opportunity to go back onto his instrument of choice, guitar, and has been wowing audiences with his superb soloing abilities. It has also given Carl a chance to show off his "baby", the Gibson 12 string/6 string Double neck on which he excels.
After receiving album mixes from both engineers in both Vancouver and Calgary, Optimal Impact has rejected them all and received the studio master discs. As of October 2007, it has been agreed that Anthony Della Croce will mix the album over the winter for a spring release. Tony's credits include mixing Jerry Doucette's "Early Years" 24 track tapes for CD release and being the "house engineer" at the Yale Blues Club in Vancouver for a number of years. We are confident the the final product will be outstanding.
HEY! How the hell are you? Just checking in with everyone. Give you a few updates on the band. First off all is well in the 'Eden' camp. Recording of the CD has been held up for a few weeks. A minor detail, due to the fact that Brad will be back drumming for us. So it worked out for the best. We'll be in Calgary in 3 weeks to record his tracks. Trent, Brad & I will post pictures up. In the meantime, heres a tid-bit of Brad & Nikko recording in Edmonton at MIDI City studios. Stay in touch... Nikko

Be careful, watch your drink. Remember the incident on grandmas carpet with egg nog last year...! I'll leave you with a warm Canadian winter statistic.
98% OF CANADIANS SAY "OH SHIT" BEFORE GOING IN THE DITCH ON A SLIPPERY ROAD.
THE OTHER 2% ARE FROM MANITOBA AND THEY SAY, "HOLD MY BEER AND WATCH THIS."
