Opti is an hyperactive digital media creator, musician, dj, events and music promoter. For the past five years, he’s been working with the leading french indie label Jarring Effects as a digital director, creating dozens of artworks, websites or musical videos, but also pushed his sharp and minimalistic aesthetics on stage as a VJ or on DVD as a video director with people like High Tone, EZ3kiel or Boxcutter. He’s also involved in cutting edge generative art collective Premium Consortium as a coder and hardware consultant. The free download Jarring Effects compilation project JFX Bits he initiated just reached the third edition, each one reaching at least 60.000 downloads and counting, receiving support from the likes of Mary Anne Hobbs or Rob Booth, promoting this new kind of open-minded electronic culture Airflex Labs was born of.
As as musician since he was 5, opti traveled on several musical ways, from noise to drone and grindcore to dub, garage and jungle. All these influences joined back in 2002 when he re-discovered the uk urban scene. Having ind mind the free and ever-regenerating global movement that nowadays' dubstep is, opti creates a music for open minded people, which tends to sow confusion between genres, keeping the loud bass and energic stabs a trademark of its own.
