Optional Wallace are from Manchester. "The Wallace" are a powerfully dark and dynamic punk/pop power trio with a supposed mystery fourth member, who has, as yet, never shown up. Their songs are dark, urgent, melodic. They've had radio play on xfm, The Rev, Gmr, BBC Manchester, Steve Lamacq and John Kennedy’s shows. Read below for what people have said about The Optionals.
Optional Wallace's “What Goes Around" / "The Ladder” 500-only, numbered release have now all sold out.
“…“Moving Targets” is a melodic and searing gem. An intensely original and powerful EP…”
- JA Manchester Music (Demo of the week 4.5 / 5)

- Steve Lamacq
"Mixing their influences of 20+ years ago with the dark sounds of here and now, make no mistake, Optional Wallace are ticking all the right boxes." - SECONDCITYUK.COM
"Heap praise on Optional Wallace"
Manchester Evening News
"An aural onslaught of hefty, soaring melodies, churning guitars and the melancholic delivery of Interpol." The Fly
"Slicing 80s guitar-play, yearningly passionate vocals, deep rumbles of bass and almost gothic drumming.

- Colin Warhurst – BBC Manchester Online

Ow Optional, i've taken to five year plans now like Stalin. I lost the manuscript that made those lists possible (with the slurping noodles being a given). However, if you are in desperate need i'm sure I can knock one up for you. These lists have stepped it up a notch now and for guaranteed success you have to ensure you fulfil the points. Why have we not crossed paths for a while? I miss your little face x
