About me:

Opulent began as an independent street press that distributed in Melbourne and Sydney - focusing on new trends in music, arts and fashion from around the world.

As a print magazine it ran for 18 months and at its peak it had a circulation of 15,000.

But now we've ditched the print game (for now) due to chiropractor's advice.

Opulent is now online.

From print to parties, and we have been representing new music ranging from crunk, hyphy, b-more, disco, electro, grime and baile funk. Over two years ago we launched issue 8 of our magazine, and from that, Favela Rock was born, now many parties later it has grown beyond our ears.

We have toured and put on shows for these distinguished guests - DIPLO, A-TRAK, MEHDI, JUSTICE, BUSY P, SPANK ROCK, HOT CHIP, CATCHDUBS, GORKY (Bonde Do Role), GHISLAIN POIRIER, KLEVER, THE COOL KIDS and SOUTH RAKKAS CREW to name a few.

Favela Rock is a dedicated urban night that spans the world in search of music. We cover everything from reggaeton to crunk to whatever track is burning up the club. This monthly party has become a right of passage in urban music. Come down this month to see what we're talking about.
