Get ready for a whole new generation of rock music. At the forefront is the band Oral. Their unique sound is bound to raise head banging tendencies, with a rock groove that is not too overwhelming, yet hardcore enough to get you hooked. The content covered in the songs include sex, lies, and betrayal, all the ingredients for great rock songs. With influences like Godsmack, Tool, Saliva, and Red Hot Chili Peppers, their music is bound to possess the rock/alternative mix that is sure to please.
The band hails from Ohio, and has gone through a few members to form the power trio that is Oral. Steven Paul on guitar and vocals is the original member of Oral, joined by drummer Billy Werner, and Mike Chomas on vocals and bass. The band has been together for about 5 years, and only gets better throughout the years. Their music is diverse, not only because of the experience of the individual members, but also because of their own moods and feelings regarding love and hate, which they incorporate into their songs. Their music is certainly radio ready, as their songs are universally relatable.
Oral has two CDs out, the first being Diversity, and the second entitled Word of Mouth, released in 2007. They are currently working on their third record, due to drop in the fall of 2008. The guys have shows planned throughout the fall around Ohio, and plan on expanding their route nationally. This is possible, as their music has earned considerable radio play domestically and internationally. They have also won 93.7’s Battle for Ozzfest in 2006 in Pittsburgh, in addition to opening for various national headliners.
Oral believes that the live show is what sets them apart from other bands saying, “the live show we put on, and the way we come together on stage gets the crowd pumped.” To find out more about Oral, including live shows to witness their performances, visit www.oraltheband.com, www.myspace.com/oraltheband, CDBaby, PureVolume.com, and Hittmusicgroup.com.
To their fans, the guys say, “Be open minded. This is an experience. This is life’s bonus. We are here to amuse and take advantage and make plenty of love.”

Please check out my weekly music blog supporting INDEPENDENT musicians called Darron to be Different. I am ALWAYS open to bands, writers, promoters, DJs or anyone else contributing. Thanks for supporting what I do by posting this comment on your page!
With the Easter holiday approaching, I decided to get a jump on this week's blog by posting it a little bit early with a few treats in this week's music blog posted below.
First, I am giving you two great ROAD TRIPS with columns by 7 Days Away and Atom Smash. Both columns give you some great insight into two bands that have respective singles that completely ROCK! I even added their videos in the comment section.
Secondly, my column touches on "Christian Rock" and how sometimes listening to religion is better than you think.
Third, Katie from CBE Entertainment does a little bit of Q&A for bands out there as she shares her views about promotion and representing bands - and what things you should be asking a promoter if you choose one!
Fourth, the Six Pack is filled with six new bands that rock including one of my favorite local bands, Soul Circus. Who are the other five? Come check out the blog.
And LAST but not LEAST, EVERY person that comments my blog is entered to win a pair of official Morgan Rose drumsticks both signed by the entire band, SEVENDUST! I picked these up at their last show in Michigan, and both sticks are signed by the ENTIRE band. If you comment, you have a chance to win!!!
Please help me by reposting this bulletin so we can spread the word about this column and help independent bands on MySpace get more attention, fans and a chance to get their music heard!
