   About Orchestra Filarmonica di Roma

On the occasion of the national party on June 2nd, for three consecutive years (1999, 2000, 2001) it has held concerts in Addis Ababa for the Italian Institute of Culture of Addis and the Italian embassy in Ethiopia. They were memorable concerts because of the artistic, cultural, and diplomatic results, and for the audience as well.
Also it should be noted that they performed at an important religious event in preparation for the Jubilee at Saint Peter's in the prescence of Pope John Paul II.
It has given premiere performances of five unpublished oratorios in the years 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002 and 2004 with television recordings and publications on compact disc and musical press.
Particulary is the production of a double CD of music of G. De Paolis, a composer in Civitavecchia who lived and wrote in the first half of the 20th century. For this CD, the Orchestra has produced a live concert with Katia Ricciarelli in the Theater Traiano in Civitavecchia of this music that had never been published or performed with an orchestra.
In February 2003 it held concerts in Dubai and Abu Dhabi (E.A.U.) organized by the Embassy of Italy in the United Arab Emirates and by the Italian consulate in Dubai.
Also of importance is the concert held December 13th, 2003, in the theater of the Government Cultural Association of Abu Dhabi; the concert inaugurated the week of “Italian style 2003” organized by the embassy of Italy.
In september 8th 2005 it has performed, with great international singers, in the Loreto's church for the "Concert Totus Tuus, in memory of John Paul II", recorded and trasmetted by RAI International and RAI UNO; in this concert was realized a DVD by RAI Trade.

Marhaba is an Arabic word used in the Middle East as a greeting (in English Hello).
The origin of the word comes from Aramaic, the old Syrian language of Jesus Christ.
It is a combination of two words: MAR + HABA
MAR, meaning God, Lord or Master.
HABA, meaning Love.
So, Marhaba means "God is Love".

The following is the Lord's Prayer in Aramaic, recited by Majida El-Roumi:

Marhaba Orchestr Filarmonica di Roma
May you celebrate the love of God deep within your heart as Jesus brings new meaning to life... Joy, Hope, Peace... because His love is eternal.
May His eternal love shine upon you always!

Poem 230 of 230, WalkaboutsVerse
(see my blog for details):
CHRISTMAS SUNG SIMPLY

As gospellers have said,
Beneath signalling skies,
On land dusty to tread,
A trough in a stable
Was the strawy first-bed
Of a divine baby -
The forgiving Godhead.

A season for new hope -
There then and here now;
The yuletide of goodwill -
There then and here now.

In respect of this chance,
Beneath bright or dark skies,
Faith's the star that we glance
Attending Christ's churches
And trying to enhance,
With singing and ritual,
Our God-loving stance.

A...

Hello Orchestra Filarmonica di Roma,

Thanks so much for the Add–and your friendship. We enjoyed your music very much. Thanks for sharing it with all of us. It's a pleasure having you among our friends! We've added two blogs about Umano, plus four more new compositions, making ten on our page. We hope you and your friends visit us and enjoy our music, too. We wake up every morning and play the music of the new MySpace friends who have arrived at our site during the night. It occurred to us that these friends (you are among them) are almost universally positive, whether they be novices or legends, and without regard to their station in life or the country they occupy. Although it's not an original thought,  it also occurred to us that we couldn’t hold a verbal conversation with most of these friends, but we have bridged that gap by expressing our art honestly with each other. We all have been filling the world with our music and art, in the hope that our messages of love and human understanding will have an impact on the world at large. What a gift and what an opportunity we have received from this technology!

After you've finished here, you may like to hear this poem sung on myspace...

Poem 162 of 230, WalkaboutsVerse
(please see my blog):
TEES TO TYNE: FIRST IMPRESSIONS - SUMMER 2001

Where traditions are not so rare;
    Sea, country and works scent the air;
A multitude of monuments,
    Planted tubs and patterned pavements.

The longish pedestrian malls;
    The remnants of defensive walls;
Historic buildings are a gauge
    Of the respect for heritage.

Wheat, rape and pines in the fields;
    Estuaries guarded by shields;
Long sandy beaches and wide scenes;
    Romantic-ruin go-betweens.

Rivers in parts licked by trees,
    Or fringed by boat clubs, wharfs, gantries,
And crossed by practical delights -
    Varied spans, forming pleasing sights.

Fine churches headed at Durham;
    Football kits ad infinitum;
Kept castles - one for study;
    Masonry behind masonry.

And, with moulding-works out that way,
It’s somewhere for a longer stay..?
