Orchid Fixation, the least active band in Norwich (and London and Stafford), are currently working on their new CD... still.
Biography
Orchid Fixation was born on New Year's Day 2005. After deciding to leave his old band, Steve Phipps immediately started writing new material. Within a few weeks he found himself with a wealth of new songs, but no one to play them with. He got in touch with Dan Sluckin (an old ex-band mate) about drumming for the new band. In mid-February, Steve and Dan started jamming, and Steve approached Ian Griffiths about filling in on bass until someone else was found. Instead, he joined full time. The full line-up was rehearsing together by the beginning of March.
Shortly after the release of their first CD, activity died down as the three members moved their separate ways - with Dan and Griff both going to University, and Steve moving out of Norwich (and then back again). However, song-writing continued and in September 2007 the band recorded drum tracks for a new CD with the fantastically talented Mr. Alex Wilson. Since then, recording has stopped and started several times, with the CD now set to be finished in the Summer.
