Ordinance is bringing its new line up to Celtic Festivals across the state, touring their new CD Lark! Join Irish talent and singer songwriter Corey Murphy on Guitar and vocals, Kathryn Ronnenberg on fiddle, Joel Hirsch on drums, Todd Johnson on Didgeridoo and Rob Gandara on Bagpipes and whistles. Ordinance specializes in performing traditional Celtic melodies on a world beat stage.
This Celtic music quintet has been on the Corvallis, Oregon scene for over 3 years, and "Lark" follows where their second album “Crow” left off. The Galician bagpipe stylings are brought to a modern world stage with the accompaniment of fiddle, guitar, didgeridoo and jiambe. The music is traditional Celtic melodies with spontaneous improvisational interludes. Ordinance has played over 75 area performances and is one of the hardest working acts in the Willamette Valley.
Ordinance’s first album, “Pelican”, debuted at the 2005 Yachats Music Festival with the follow-up “Crow” at the 2006 festival by the same name. This festival is the largest Celtic festival in the Northwest.
Recent St. Patrick’s Day tour included the following Corvallis locations:
Fox and Firkin
Squirrel’s Tavern
BPOE 1413
Whiteside Beer and Wine
Cloud 9 Atmospheric Eatery
Corvallis Manor
Chintimini Senior Center
The Gaita on this recording is handcrafted by Rob himself out of Carbony. To learn more about wind instrument construction out of this unique alternative to wood, check out PipeMakersUnion.com
