Formed early in 2007, the Organic String Quartet came together to create a new musical experience. The individual musicians have extensive music backgrounds in Orchestral, Chamber, Operatic, Solo, and Folk/Blues genres. Perfect for any occasion, the Organic String Quartet offers both an eclectic array of musical stylings and a professional approach to the musical world.

At the age of 22, Emily Moore is already an accomplished violinist.
She started violin lessons as a four-year-old, studying classical
music during the school year and learning fiddle tunes over the
summer. Three years later, Emily discovered Valley of the Moon Fiddle
School in California and has since continued to explore traditional
fiddle, rock, and groove-based music using her classical technique as
an increasingly solid foundation.
Although an avid fiddle player, Emily continued to study classical
music and was admitted into the Thornton School of Music at USC as a
Violin Performance major in 2004. She has performance experience with
a number of groups including the San Diego Civic Youth Orchestra, the
San Diego City Ballet performing "The Nutcracker" and "A Midsummer's
Night Dream", and opening for the Chiara String Quartet as a member of
the California Institute of Music String Quartet.
Alicia Spillias has been trained classically on the violin for 18 years and has also branched off into other genres of music including folk and blues. She spent 6 years at a middle/high school for the performing arts and went on to play in the Gainesville Symphony Orchestra in Florida. She has played in String Ensembles for 11 years, playing for weddings, parties, and the like. She has also played in pit orchestras for Musicals including “Into the Woods”, “Sound of Music”, “West Side Story”, "Oklahoma", "Beauty and the Beast", "Singing in the Rain", and more. Alicia is also an accomplished vocalist, trained classically since the age of 6, following in her mother’s footsteps. She performed in the production of Mozart’s “The Abduction from the Seraglio” with the Intimate Opera Company last fall. She also performed in Puccini's "Suor Angelica" and Mozart’s “Marriage of Figaro” at Cal State University, Northridge and is currently performing in Purcell's "Dido & Aeneas". She has also performed in LA’s Mass Choir with the Hollywood Symphony Orchestra. In addition, Alicia has done background vocal work and is on the soundtrack for the Independent film “Sinner”. Currently, Alicia attends Cal State University, Northridge as a Vocal Performance major and performs with the CSUN Symphony Orchestra.
Raised in a household apatheic to music, Cecille Asuncion started playing viola at the age of 13 at her own awknowledgement. When she signed up for the beginning strings class at a public junior high school, everybody chose the violin and cello. Cecille decided on the viola. "I saw only two people in the viola section, and they turned around and started waving at me to join. I knew then, that I had to play viola. It was like a calling." Fate as it may be seen, since her introduction to the viola, her love and passion for classical music has always remained with her. In 2005, she joined the former number 2 classical station in the country, K-Mozart 105.1, marketing and promoting classical music to all.
Today, Cecille is continuously being introduced to great orchestral works by playing in orchestras around the Los Angeles area. Her favorite composers include Mozart and Beethoven. Cecille loves the viola and classical music very much and hopes her enthusiasm for the arts will trickle onto more people, especially the youth. Put in her own words, "Classical music rocks"!
Mary Beth Bolin is a cellist and composer living in Culver City. She started playing piano and composing when she was six, and started playing cello at the age of seven. She earned her BA in Religion from St. Olaf College where she played cello with the prestigious St. Olaf Orchestra in addition to studying piano, organ, and viola da gamba. Mary Beth loves making music with other people, whether she is singing in choir, playing chamber music, or simply jamming. Since her return to composition as a serious discipline in 2006, Mary Beth has composed works for classical guitar, viola, cello, and choir. Her first choral work was premiered by Namaste Women's Choir in June of 2007.

On Oct 3, a fantastic gathering occurred within a cafe-sized room canopied by trees. The Gypsy Camp is a long-visited place within El Escorpion Park in West Hills - long overdue to be utilized as a unique venue for live music.
It was the beginning of a new series of acoustic shows that bring bands out of bars and clubs, friends and musical enthusiasts out of the house on a saturday afternoon, and a unique and magical experience to everyone involved.
