About me:

I'm transplanted, transforming and studying transgenderism... so I'm movin' around in every part of my life! After moving to San Francisco over a year ago from San Diego county, I've had some grand shifts in my life between working with Cafe Gratitude (a raw vegan restaurant and school of transformation) to my masters degree program in the SFSU Women's Studies Department. I am searching and experimenting with new modes of being, and new modes of expression as I soak in all of these amazing opportunities in creative, radical and transformative work... all within this skin-sack called a body! I work as an Office Assistant to Cafe Gratitude, getting my life out of working there. Cafe Gratitude is the world's largest raw organic vegan restaurant (5 locations now) and is 150% dedicated to the transformation of the lives of it's employees. I can't believe I'm getting paid for this!! check out their website at www.cafegratitude.com I am finishing up my Masters Degree this year in Gender and Womens Studies at San Francisco State University. This year I am writing my thesis, which is scaring the crap out of me (in that I've just spent the last 2 years of my life/schooling in learning what's wrong with current ways of writing/researching in Women's Studies). If I can really get past dipping my toes in the water of my thesis and jump in fully, maybe I can get some real contribution going. My thesis topic is on the embodiments (ways of being) of intersexed individuals through their online communities (youtube, forums, blogs...) and analyzing what's possible in gender, sex, (dis)ability and sexuality through these unique modes of self ..beyond essentializing, beyond social construction, beyond identity politics). When what we say and how we perform our identities creates a knowledge of the world, most people say and perform what they know and the cycle of social understanding keeps going without much change. and Look: I made these!

    Ha ha ha no, no babies! Its my friend Jenn's baby boy :) he's my lil nephew! Not a whole lot is going on, I'm just spinning my wheels in school trying to get into an RN program, I'm ready to give up on it the wait is horrid and working as a dispatcher for the marine corps... Its a civillian position so no worrys I didn't join the military! Other than that nothing is crazy new! What is up with you?

    Hey Chy! I love your myspace page is awesome. As for the creations you have made, they are amazing! Like always you have great imagination. Anyway, yes I am engaged, I have been for the last year. We dont plan to get married until i finish with my masters in Chicano Studies. I hope I can pass the test this fall, but if I dont feel prepared for it, I will take a break and get married :) I plan to move to Nevada with my fiancee, new experience and new job. Work is going good too, I work for the City of Escondido organizing neighborhood groups. As you can see, we are both busy. I wish you the best of luck on your thesis. Good to hear from you.

    I really like what you're doing too! In fact, I see some similarities with what I'm doing in terms of the borders of the body, it may just be because I'm in mental borders mode now.
