The retrofuturist electronic project ORGONAUTIC, manned by musician/producer Christian Preunkert (CHP) and cultural theorist/lyricist Alexander Nym was formed in 2004 by CHP and Nym after successfully collaborating on a series of poetry, music and performance art presentations. Quickly, ORGONAUTIC research strongholds were established in various neuralgic spots on earth, and each of the volunteering orgonauts were assigned specific tasks according to their qualifications, resulting in a psycho-physical attempt to research, diagnose and treat archetypal crisis constellations in the human condition with the means of music, sound, phonetics and semantics.
Previous manifestations (besides live appearances in Nuernberg, London and elsewhere) include contributions to compilations (in Frankonia and Australia), three EPs (“Ignition” and “Liftoff” as strictly limited CDR-editions in 2004 and 2005; “The Moebius Strategy” as online-only mp3-release in early 2008), and the epic 77-minute-album “Lagrange Point” from 2007. The album comes in two lavishly designed editions of which the first assumed a cinematic look, coming in a DVD-box with 16-page full-colour booklet in an edition of 150 numbered copies, while the second (to be released in late 2008 in an edition of 200 copies) appears like a book with its sturdy, foil-blocked sleeve and classical lyrics leaflet, taking one of ORGONAUTIC’s meta-medial tactics a step further.
Accompanying each of these releases ORGONAUTIC appeared live before enthusiastic crowds to be praised for their “consistently professional appearance” (Nuernberger Nachrichten); gigs at exhibition openings in the neighbourhood, but also in London followed, as did radio-play in the US, thus building a small but intercontinental following as yet restricted to the musical and artistic underground.
Hard to label stylistically, ORGONAUTIC have been described as „more futuristic than ‚Massive Attack’ and more impenetrable than ‚Air’“ (Uncle Sally*s magazine), or as „’Velvet Underground’ meets Trance“ (Beat-/Psychedelic scholar Michael Horowitz). Consider it safe to say they deliver „finest entertainment for ears & brain“ (Katana18.de) attained by juxtaposing „complexity with minimalism; contemporary beats collide with analogue equipment, commercial melodies with irritating sequences, Jamyno’s (very, very beautiful!) organic singing with sterile sounds – yet always retaining the unity of the whole“ (Black No. 46), this „soothing and melancholic mix of music, singing and language which might appeal to audio artists and dancefloor addicts as well as to literati and to common electropop-folks.“ (Nuernberger Nachrichten)

I am sure we will have more chances to meet, I really wanted to hear your reading @ the Sixtina but as we realised you also were late (not just us ;p ) too much alcohol took its toll on the last day of the WGT ;))) nevertheless it was an amazing one, this year :)
