About me: Ghost Poet:
I like to imagine that my verse emanates from the ghosts of other poets I follow, in a process vaguely resembling a shamanistic street seance:
The ghost of Adrian Henri stands in a misty nighttime alley, channeling the might-as-well-be-ghost of Captain Beefheart, whilst the ghost of Dylan Thomas stands hiding not far from a streetlight, peering skeptically (note the arched spectral eyebrow) from the shadows round the corner of a building, as the ghost of Jack Kerouac, behind the wheel of a chopped ‘49 Merc sporting solid chrome side pipes and dangling fuzzy dice, rumbles slowly past the same streetlight, with the ghost of Jim Morrison perching on one leg as a cheap imitation hood ornament, behind which the ghost of Allen Ginsberg, dressed in pink-sequined tutu and armed with delicate diamond-encrusted magic scepter, dances and skips gaily along while lofting glittering clouds of pixie dust, whilst across the street the special-preview-ghost of Leonard Cohen stands, charcoal in hand, drawing naked girls and scrawling obscene graffiti on the wall behind ghost-in-denial Rod McKuen, who sits at an outdoor table under an umbrella in front of a glimmer-lit sidewalk café, gazing at the shining wetstreet reflecting the entire scene, sobbing with absurd poignancy and muttering to himself “And to think I started all this”.
