Bio
ocalist Ori Dagan is the winner of the 2010 CBC Radio competition "Canada's Next Top Crooner." Born in Israel and raised in Toronto, he initially trained as a classical pianist from ages six to sixteen, dabbling in creative writing and musical theatre before discovering jazz in his late teens. He has since devoted his life to swinging eighth notes and moving audiences in the process! Dagan's recording debut, "S'Cat Got My Tongue" (2009) received an abundance of critical acclaim, with American jazz historian Scott Yanow proclaiming that the album is "a major step forward for Ori Dagan, who in a few years will likely be very well known in the jazz world..." Stay tuned for news about Ori's sophomore album, due out in April, 2012. -
