The band formed in 1978 from a group of buddies who surfed, skated and hung out together in Huntington Beach. We started out with a hot looking keyboard player named Yolanda. We played lots of garage partys in HB and Newport Beach. We then aquired Joe Woods from Der Stab. We started to play some live shows and more partys and lots of Cuccoos nest gigs. We then acquired Chalmer Lumary to replace Joe Woods on Bass. Further down the road Bob Johnson left the band and we were a 4 piece band from there on out. We released 2 seperate singles and 1 EP during our 3 1/2 years. We also have about 8 unreleased songs that we may put out in the near future...After we broke up Van Hated was formed....Gary Van Boemel (RIP), Todd Barnes of TSOL (RIP), And Chalmer Lumary. We are doing a re-union show this summer with all original members. Steve Real, Bob Johnson, Bob Haddad, Chalmer Lumary, and special guest to play for GVB... Waiting for a show date......... Dang Nick !!, as I told you at the House of Blues, I don't even recall doing that ! I did so may stupid things in my younger days that I'm sure thats true, the rest of MIA backed up what you said at the show, (thanks for not jumping me guys !) Mike and I became such good friends and I miss that guy big time !!!! you guys sounded so good at the HOB, I guess I'm even more punk then I thought ! LOL !!! It was great to hang with all you guys that night !!
Actually I think the pirates kinda screwed it up with their "One rope? One hundred feet? OK!" crap too. I think the pirate thing will be happening for however long it takes to change current maritime rules about self-defense for cargo ships. So are we back on until then at least?
