It started back in Boise, ID a few years ago. Two friends shared a mutual idea of what hip-hop should be, rejecting current trends and balking at traditional values. The idea was Origin Unknown. With Coby-One as the DJ, and Geno Ray as the MC, it seemed to be shaping up as the dopest group in recent memory. But leading two different lives lead to an unplanned split, with Coby-One relocating to PHX and eventually L.A., and Geno staying in Boise. An unexpected occurence in Geno's life lead to an inspired reunion in the summer of 2006.
Geno found his way down to L.A. and the reunion was on. What Geno hadn't expected was Coby-One joining forces with young, hungry, incredible MC from Jersey who went by the name Cunning. Seeing that he was clearly outclassed, Geno made the decision to step down as the MC and take on the small, but important role of hypeman. And with that, the New and Improved Origin Unknown was born.
So whats next for Origin Unknown? With a revamped lineup and new found inspiration, there is no telling. Living in an apartment with enough equipment to start there own record label in, there are no hinderances to stop this group of talented individuals.
