Philadelphia's music scene is way underappreciated. Like any city, we have our fair share of the iconic, the semi-obnoxious, and the downright intolerable. And maybe the reason why the city Love doesn't get recognized for its startling music is our fault - we're just not showing enough love to the right artists, even to those bands across the river. So consider the December issue - The Philly Issue - your wake-up call. Inside, we have the buzzworthy outfits that deserve your undivided attention - The Swimmers, Good Old War, Cuddle Magic, AnOmali, Screaming Females, and cover outfit Free Energy. Take the time to listen, people, and you won't regret it.
Also in this month's issue: Emilie Autumn, The 69 Eyes, The Phenomenal Handclap Band, Metropolis and the Top 9 of '09, where Origivation writer, Izzy Cihak, chats up with nine of the best artists of this year to give us their opinion of the three best tracks of this year. It's heavy.
Rock on!
What's New...
Origivation Magazine will be moving it's Unplugged Music Series to World Cafe Live starting June 24! Check back for updates and information!
Due to the volume of music we receive, bands will need to print out, fill in and mail a Band Review Form with at least one copy of their latest release. Please note that only Mastered albums will be considered for review. You should also send us a short bio and
a Photo, traditional (8x10) or digital (300dpi). Present your work nicely (don't submit a hand-written CD-R wrapped in a sheet of dirty, ripped old paper). If you can't take your work seriously, neither will we!
We appreciate any help in promoting our magazine. If you would like to show your support for original music and Origivation, please add the banner shown below to your myspace or website by copying and pasting the following code:

Hey, hope you are well. We’re looking for some helpful feedback. On
iTunes, Chemistar’s “Virtual Girl” is their most downloaded song.
“Ocean Eyes” is a close second but the songs are WILDLY different from
each other. Which one do you like better and why?! You can hear both
songs on our page. Drop us a comment and thanks for the opinion. Cheers*
So... diggs it, whenever you get time... there's a blog here [entitled "Well well well...] that could use your checkin' out and input. even if that input is your middle finger. if its some sort of mold, then i'm skeptical, but middle fingers are ok. tell your frineds. and their middle fingers.
