My quest is knowledge, understanding and application. I eat, breathe and sleep the process of wealth building. It is a healthy obsession. It is not popular with my ethnic demographic or my age group but learning about money and how it works is the difference between pushing a buggy in Whole Foods or pushing a buggy downtonwn in Hunt Plaza. I am only being real. Any conversations you want to have about Wall Street, the options market, hedge funds, derivatives, commercial real estate or building a business, I have got more than enough information for you. I am cut from a bit of a different fabric. I have made extreme changes and taken extreme risk that I DO NOT recommend. Different sacrifices for different payouts.
Secondly, I love good people with good intelligent conversation. I have found recently, that that is in high demand but low supply. Even more so, I love women that are just as beautiful inside as they are on the outside who have a true entrepreneurial spirit with a vision of the future without inhibitions about traditional roles for men and women in the household or society.
I would much rather stay in, than go club. I would much rather read a good book, than watch television. I would much rather build wealth than purchase liabilities. I love total health. I enjoy working out and eating right. I love watching nature pictures about feline predators.
The animal kingdom and corporate America are completely parallel in function. Each environment lives by one primal rule, only the strong survive and the weak get eaten alive!
Music
I will be real, I am stuck in the 90's. For all those in denial, this is when real hip hop and R&B was being recorded. The examples are endless: the Queen of Hip Hop in Mary J. Blige, the last great boy band in Jodeci and Snoop Dogg, Nas and Jay Z on their earliest of works.
I have gained a level of appreciation for anything southern because that is what I represent. Anyone who knows me knows that I bump Outkast like it dropped yesterday, Goodie Mobb like they just came off tour, T.I. like he is a brand new artists and Eight Ball, MJG and UGK like pimpin' is a modern phenomenon. That's just how I do.
I love it all across all genres, from Oasis to Red Hot Chili Peppers to NYoil to Heather Headley to Keyshia Cole back to Greenday and Coldplay and Kanye West and Common and 50 Cents and Young Dro and Robin Thicke, but those are my preferences because they have something say...therefore, I listen.
Movies
It has been a while since I went out to a picture show. There is really nothing lost nothing gained so far. If you are trying to come up, and want to be entertained simultaneously, you must watch Wall Street, Glengary Glenross, Boiler Room, The Matrix, The Great Gatsby, Syriana, The Pursuit of Happyness, Cocaine Cowboys and American Gangster. These movies will open your third eye...that is if you really want to know the truth. I found out a lot of people prefer being lied to but I just don't fit that demographic. Anyone sense a theme here? Trust me. I am a lot more fun than you might imagine. Case and point, Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon...Hero...Damon Waynans in Bamboozled...Woody Allen in Small Time Crooks...Adam Sandler in Happy Gilmore and Waterboy...Eddie Murphy in Beverly Hills Cop I and II...Denzel Washington in Training Day, Out of Time and Man on Fire...Keanu Reeves in Sweet November...Hugh Grant in About a Boy...Jude Law in Alfie...Will Smith in Enemy of the State. Ironically one of my most favorite flicks is Legally Blonde with Reese Witherspoon......ok, it snuck upon me. That's a good mix, right? I mean......isn't it?
Television
This is a tough one. If the televison is on, I am flipping from CNBC to ESPN to Discovery Channel to History Channel to A&E to PBS or Nick at Nite (I mean I have to have my Fresh Prince reruns, Law & Order and CSI or I don't sleep right.)
I can't really make time for television movies, syndicated programming or prime time television because I am watching them make their money. It just makes me uncomfortable on a personal level......but I do admit that is a little extreme. To make you a bit more comfortable for you I have Family Guy Seasons 1 & 2 on DVD and I rarely miss American Dad. These are true, thought provoking, comedic adult cartoons. That's about it.
Books
I was a very avid reader of ANYTHING growing up. There are some key issues that concern me in our community and I have dedicated my time, energy and focus to those initiatives. Now, I am concentrated in three areas: health, wealth and pre-Columbus history. There are too many books to list because I probably average about a book every two weeks for the past two years. This is no video game for me, I am trying to virtuall crush the game and hopefully enlighten like minded individuals in the process. Get at me if your interest are the same as mine. Well.........how would know my interest if I don't name titles!
