Orion Nine are the reigning kings of metal in the Chicago land area. Formed in the summer of 2000 the band has spent the years since chiseling their sound and performance by performing all over the Midwest. You may have caught them in Michigan or Wisconsin, or even as far as Pennsylvania, but no matter where you see them they always give it their all. 110% every time!
Respected in Chicago as one of the best live bands they pack their shows with explosive, high energy, un-predictable antics that make them a band to be reckoned with. In Chicago alone they have played such great venues as the legendary Metro, the historic Double Door, The Pearl Room, Logan Square Auditorium and the House of Blues Chicago and Las Vegas. Around the mid-west they’ve played The Orbit Room in Grand Rapids Michigan, The Machine Shop in Flint Michigan, The Warehouse Stage in Madison Wisconsin and the Rave in Milwaukee Wisconsin.
Their songs are loaded with powerhouse riffs, drums that will drive the insane, mental. Scorching leads and the unforgettable vocals of Frank Horvath. Trust us, take a listen, you’ll dig it.
In the summer of 2005 the band independently released a collection of demo and live recordings entitled “Kiss The Sun.” The 17-song album did extremely well selling an estimated 2000 units in its first year without the use of internet sales.
In the fall of 2007 the band began recording their first full-length debut album entitled “Drunk In Heaven.” This 10-song album is still yet to be released but is one of the most anticipated albums in the Chicago land area. Expecting the album to be released in the summer of 2009, the band intends to tour relentlessly, “Road-Dog It” if you will, in support of their debut album.
Enjoying as much publicity as they can get the band has been featured in Revolver Magazine in both the March 2005 (under the magazine's 'Raw New Talent' section) and May 2007 issue (In the 'Party Hard' Section). They were also included on the 2003 and 2004 Levi’s Jeans Sampler with bands such as Shinedown, The Black Eyed Peas, Atreyu, and Saliva. The band was featured in the Traumahead Sportz paintball DVD, 'Episode 33', which was distributed to 12 countries, as well as their compilation CD, 'Dirty Scene' . And Also appeared on the "Twangled View of Havasu 2 and 3" DVDs. More recently appearing on NWA's Wrestling Showcase airing in 2009.
