Born in Mantanzas, Cuba, Orlando Cardoso at age 11 began his music studies at the Music School of Mantanzas. Three years later he went to the National Arts School (ENA) in Havana. Eventhough he began studying the Bassoon, it was mandatory to study the piano. After graduating in 1991, he worked in the National Symphony for two years and later on he joined some of the well known Cuban bands such as: Quimica Perfecta, Yaguarimu, Angel Bonne, and Rojitas (just to name a few).
In 1999 he moved to Canada and has been a freelance musician playing with different bands nationally and internationally.
