The current line-up of Orwell Music fell into place in Northampton in the autumn of 2000 when Duncan (guitars/vocals) and Andy (drums) hooked up with Dave (bass) and developed their own take on alternative rock. Influenced by bands such as Shellac, The God Machine, Slint, dEUS, Pixies, Nirvana and Jacobs Mouse, Orwell Music are an exciting live prospect. Their dynamics give little clues as to what's coming next as they switch from crunchy, pedals-on rock-outs to intricate, melodic interludes and build-ups - often all in one song. They do fi - lo or hi. They will remind you of other bands without ever really sounding like anyone, and will demonstrate scientifically that songs don't have to go verse-chorus-verse to be any good. Orwell Music do what they do because they love it. They've played to appreciative audiences in England and Germany and are currently doing all they can to play live at every opportunity - mostly in London, where they are now based. Orwell Music is men. You'll be glad you took the time to check them out.

Our first show following 3 months of writing takes place at The Fly, New Oxford Street on November 11th. It's an industry showcase promoted by Mean Fiddler and backed by Rock Sound Magazine. El Caco are flying in from Norway to play on the night. We'll be letting some new material loose! It'd be grand if you can make it.
Take it easy, love all the people, NIXA
XFM Review
I'm not totally at home with Rock (that has no extreme soppy/angry emo leanings), but have heard enough to know that this is it done very, very well. Deep, powerful voice, BIG music and just the feeling that something very professional is happening -I don't mean in a clinical way, just in that way that, when you find out they're unsigned, it's a bit of a shock. I'd be very surprised if they didn't massively pull it off live.
I love The house and terrace and so should you, it's the new Cross, it's London's version of Space Ibiza. If you have not been there then more fool you as this is what clubland is about. I believe that the opening of Matter really does matter and North Greenwich and the Dome will become a clubbing mecca to rival the likes of ibiza.... I Shit You Not
if you have not seen it before check out our Party Animal music video that we filmed at the House and terrace, to get a feel for our venue.
