The band originated after Guitarist, Steve Lombardi and Drummer, Nick Lombardi decided to create a new band with a new sound. While jamming one day with their friend Tyler Kilby, they decided to create something completely different. With nick switching over to bass, and Tyler on drums, a strong bottom end for the band would be created. Now in search for a singer, they quickly got in contact with a friend of theirs – Scott French. While jamming with Scott they knew right away he was exactly what they were looking for. All the recordings were originally created and produced by the band members in their home studio.. Then went to a professional studio in Ardmore, P.A. [Milkboy Recording Studio] to re-record all of their songs and create what is now on myspace currently. All from Oxford, PA area.
One Step Closer has performed at the Chameleon Club, The Trocadero Theatre, Media Music Theatre, talent shows, battle of bands, numerous event performances from the Chester County area, benefit concerts for the American Cancer Society, and The Colin Fitzpatrick Fundraiser with WMMR. One Step Closer has been one of the most requested bands on 93.7 WSTW Hometown Heroes and has co-hosted the show with Mark Rogers. The band has also been aired on numerous college radio stations.
