The profile pic is not of Osonics but rather of someone who personifies the posted tune "Legal Drugs".
"The Ballad of J. Pounds" is a collaboration with Ben Moran on drums and Liam Wood on bass. O plays guitar and warbles out his feelings about a friend who has gone missing in action. A former college appartment mate, J Pounds was very infatuated with the whole Doors scene and Jim Morrison. So was his brother who took it a little too far, or just as far as Morrison himself. JP shucked his job some months ago and stopped answering his phone not long after.
This song arrived spontaneously during a jam as though being delivered by Aliens looking for our leader. There was a lot of feeling in the room as we all figured out what I was on about, since we all went to college with the guy. This take is several minutes long, and so had to be encoded at 128k in order to fit on MySpace. Unfortunately this turns the cymbal sound into Jello. It's a shame because at 192k the thing sounds pretty haunting (feedback swells aside). We may make a better version of it someday, but the magic apparition of the song all at once out of nowhere makes this version worthy of a moment on display.
