Ostracoda were formed in Norwich in the summer of 2003 by vocalist/guitarist Dan Kelby and guitarist Adam Syson. Drawn together by a bastardised Pearl Jam poster advertising for like-minded musicians and a mutual love for many melodic hard rock acts, they soon hooked up with local musicians with the idea of maybe – just maybe – creating their own original band. So began the usual pattern of song writing, playing bad cover versions of popular rock hits and doing a few local gigs, and after another half decade of excitement, catastrophe, joy, depression, revolving line-ups as well as a handful of self-produced demos, the band was finally completed by Justin Brand (guitars, backing vocals), Matt Purland (bass) and Joe Hancy (drums).
After an extensive period of writing, in March 2009 the band recorded a new song entitled 'Pure Nothing' at Dan Hawkins' revered Leeder's Farm studios in Norfolk with engineer Dave Pye. After mixing the new track and remixing material from the Monkey Puzzle sessions of 2008, Ostracoda will be releasing both sets of songs plus their live video for 'Other Side' as a single package, to send out to promoters and venues to secure more gigs further from their native county. In the meantime, the band continue to write, record demos and gig with the hope of releasing their own self-financed album in the future.

Just dropping by to wish you a Happy New Year and let you know about an event we're holding on Wednesday Jan 14th at The Queen Charlotte Pub in Norwich.
Law expert and founder of Make Wars History, Chris Coverdale, and Ex MI5 Officer, Annie Machon, will be joining us to highlight the illegality of the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, exposing the war criminals, and will present various methods by which we can apply pressure to ensure that the existing laws are applied to end the needless killings.

It depends how you want the pics. I can send them via msn or something, or upload them onto a facebook album (as i find it easier than myspace). If I upload them onto my myspace I'd wanna watermark them first. And I'm assuming you want the pics before they'd have my logo on them. I do ask that you credit me wherever you use the pics though. Anywho, let me know what would be easiest for you xx
Cheers Dan. We really enjoyed ourselves on Thursday gigging with you guys. Cheers for the support and we'll definitely do something together again soon. Take care and don't be shy
