Otan Vargas( Born on October 4, 1984 in Tondo Manila, Philippines) is a Filipino who moved to the United States in 2006. He is proud to say that he was born and raised in Tondo, known to be the poorest place in Manila.
Alone with his acoustic guitar and indescribable melancholic voice, Otan Vargas words and melody enigmatically brings sanguinity despite of its evoking sadness that only a few can hold.
The high point thus far in his career came on
February 14, 2009 at The Music Box Borgata Hotel and Casinos.
Aaron Lewis, the vocalist from the band Staind,
called him up on stage to perform "Its Been Awhile".
His rendition of "Its Been Awhile" warranted a standing ovation
from the entire crowd.
