A winner of New York City's Irish Rhapsody Festival, O'Tasty is among the largest and most dynamic bands in the Washington, DC area. Their music is informed by the Celtic Punk tradition, but pushes its boundaries, blending traditional Irish instrumentation including the mandolin, accordion, acoustic guitar, fiddle, flute and bodhran with contemporary rock and swing instruments including drums, electric bass, trumpet and clarinet. The result is a blend of Celtic Punk, traditional and swing with a political edge. O'Tasty is known for their energetic performances, consistently moving crowds to dance. They play original tunes and some traditionals with an upbeat edge.
O’Tasty recently filled to capacity the IOTA Club & Café in Arlington, VA. They’ve drawn large and enthusiastic crowds at a number of other regional venues including the Knitting Factory in Manhattan; The Black Cat and DC9 in Washington, DC; the Shamrockfest at RFK Stadium Grounds; Adams Morgan Day Festivals; and other venues in Washington, DC, New York City, Baltimore, Philadelphia and Northern Virginia. They've shared the stage with national acts including Black 47 and Flogging Molly and will soon be touring with recently released material.
"For those who have never heard O’Tasty, they are the best local band in town...so make sure you catch them the next time they play."
