Reason Combinator Patches
Propellerheads Reason Effect: Mastering Suite My own take on the Default Mastering Suite from the Reason Factory Soundbank. The settings have been set how I like them, and require minimal tweaking at the end of the composition process.
Propellerheads Reason Effect: Ping-Pong Delay The output of Mod A of a malström is sent to the pan of a channel of a Line Mixer. The outputs of the mixer run to individual Delay units with identical settings, giving the classic Ping-Pong delay.
Propellerheads Reason Effect: Filter Sweep A single ECF-42 Filter unit routed so Rotary 1 simultaneously increases the Frequency while decreasing the Resonance and vice-versa. Button 1 toggles the Filter unit on and off. Not fantastic on its own, but useful as a starting block.
Propellerheads Reason Effect: FX Delay A Redrum with the first 5 channels wired separately into a line mixer, the send/return of which runs through a DDL-1 Digital Delay. This unit is designed to add ambient effects and other background noises.
Propellerheads Reason Bass: Crunchy Acid Bass Two Subtractors, one of which is affected by Mod A of a malström, loaded with the same custom patch are wired into a Line Mixer. This works particularly well on rapidly pulsing basslines.
Propellerheads Reason Bass: Grizzly Sub Bass Two malströms, a Subtractor, a Line Mixer and a BV512 Vocoder combined to give a dirty sub bass.
Propellerheads Reason Bass: Bass Guitar + LFO A custom malström patch combining an Accoustic Guitar and Random Filter graintables with the LFO output of a Subtractor wired into the Mod wheel of the malström. The Mod Wheel is set to change the Shift and the Filter of both Oscillators, giving a thick bass guitar sound with occassional tweaking to the sound.
Propellerheads Reason Bass: Phased Warp Bass A detuned custom malström patch with a high attack on the filter coupled with a phaser to give a metallic warping bass sound.
Propellerheads Reason Bass: PsyBass Designed for psytrance basslines, a single Subtractor is passed through a myriad of effects units, with controls to affect the most significant assigned to the main panel of the Combinator.
Propellerheads Reason Bass: Gated Warp Bass A wet warping bassline, works well when gated. As heard in my Down & Dirty Vocal Mix of Madonna's Deeper & Deeper...
Propellerheads Reason Bass: Benassi Bass An attempt to simulate the bass sound in tracks by Benny Benassi (Satisfaction), the ouput of a custom Malström patch is routed through a Scream distortion unit, M-Class Compressor and Maximizer. Rotary controls are assigned for Overdrive, EQ Sweep, Filter Sweep and Output Gain. The side-chain of the compressor is linked to the combinator inputs.

   關於 Oscar TG

The wrong (or is that right) side of 30, I spent over 10 years DJing semi-professionally (got paid, but not enough to give up the day job) in and around Bristol in the south west of the UK. I have been producing music on and off since around 2000, using Propellerhead Reason and Sony Acid Pro. In December 2003, I won the Soren LaRue remix competition run by Acid Planet, beating over 400 other entries, but was unable to capitalise on that opportunity due to the birth of my first daughter in 2004 (and other things I won't go into). After moving from Bristol to Newport in Wales, I've taken up music production again, although the DJing's out for a while (young children don't respect a hangover). I've signed a number of original tunes to Wreked Records Worldwide and Red Robot Records, had remixes released on a number of other labels and am a member of the PellaPushers mash-up collective.
