She wore blue velvet Bluer than velvet was the night Softer than satin was the light From the stars She wore blue velvet Bluer than velvet were her eyes Warmer than May her tender sighs Love was ours Ours a love I held tightly Feeling the rapture grow Like a flame burning brightly But when she left, gone was the glow of Blue velvet But in my heart there'll always be Precious and warm, a memory Through the years And I still can see blue velvet Through my tears
Where are we at per the July 29th Show? I will have some transducers for your circuit bending should you be in attendance, run you through a MOOG Phaser or worse, we shall.
I'm telling lots of people about this. It's the only way it might happen.
And it should. If only because I think this is a really cool idea! Check it out! It might not be time YET but ... maybe a little one soon?
Should you do want to do some circuit bending keep the 29th of July in mind. AFA drawing social: we will be w/ Tricoteus (upright bass; Barisax and flute). Also, possibly Chet Williams on alto.
I’m still not sure what happened to CineSect exactly… but I picked up a copy of Matthew Bright’s Freeway (1996) over the weekend and since I’m going to watch it anyway ...
CineSect presents Freeway Tuesday, May 1 at Kitty’s place.
Arrive after 8 p.m. Movie starts at 9 p.m.
Loosely based on “Little Red Riding Hood,” the dark comedy stars Reese Witherspoon (like you’ve never seen her before) and Kiefer Sutherland as the “Big Bad Wolf” who picks her up hitchhiking.
Charles Taylor for salon.com:
“Like Something Wild or Brian De Palma's horror-comedies, Freeway takes delight in confounding our expectations, scrambling what's funny and what's horrifying until you're likely to be gasping and laughing at the same time. In other words, there are plenty of people whom "Freeway" is going to rile up. But if you're game, this is the sort of picture that uses lurid material to tap right into the unique sensual pleasures of the movies.”
In a recent discussion of how to resurrect the inadvertently stalled CineSect, Mark suggested we veer away from respectible film and go with something totally tacky.
Your hostess, Kitty, instantly knew what to do.
CineSect is almost embarassed to present ...
Eros Perversion (1979) a.k.a Twelfth Night.
Monday, February 26 at 9 p.m. (unless that's bad for EVERYONE???)
Adapted and directed by Ron Wertheim, this poorly dubbed, SOFT porn, musical version of Shakespeare's Twelfth Night was filmed in Italy in 1977 with an international cast.
Among its "stars" is Ajita Wilson as Antonia. The actress died in the '80s but appears to be some sort of cult icon. Check out her mySpace page if you don't believe me.
Not too much is known about this film (in English at any rate) but I just happen to have a copy of it on VHS. Back in high school when cable TV still wasn't an option in Madisonville, PA, my Uncle from New Jersey used to bring his TV Guide on visits. I would highlight things I wanted him to tape for me. How was I supposed to know some pervert could have done this to Shakespeare?
According to imdb.com, Ron Wertheim was a production manager on Deep Throat (1972) and then went on to direct such flicks as The Spy Who Came (1969), and Invitation to Lust (1966) before filming Eros Perversion.
