Born and raised in Virginia, (I never lived more than 30 minutes from my place of birth, which is Manassas...you know...the Civil War's first battle...oh, and you remember John Wayne Bobbitt) and formerly the leader of the celtic alternative, jeff greer band from Virginia. As of March 27th, 2006, I now live in Seattle (well 5 minutes NW in Kenmore technically), where my family and I have moved to help start a movement of incarnational, missional churches in the Northwest region. I am a full-time creative/worship arts pastor for our first new church called "new vintage village", which has birthed 'SOLAS', an experiential gathering shedding light on ancient celtic spirituality and the teachings of Jesus using music, art, prayer, worship and liturgy. We plan to launch 3-4 more churches from in the next 3 years. I will also be simultaneously doing outreach, through music, in the communites of bars, pubs and hangouts in and around the downtown Seattle area. Much of this area has gone virtually unreached by the church, greatly because of its prior inability to engage the post-modern culture, which is populated predominantly by the alternative, underground, artsy, subculture (students and young adults), God has given me a heart for the people of this culture and bring the kindness of Jesus that leads to repentence, into their communities. So since we've been here, I have been spending most of my days stuggling with life and ministry, connecting with people in the community, making new friends, talking to (and wrestling with) God a lot (a WHOLE lot), dealing with me (more like Jesus dealing with me), settling into the area and getting used to living in this country's most beautiful, "best kept secret".

Hey Jeff-was at walmart today trying to buy food for the kids(I had the 2 girls with me,) but my card was acting up and was not being accepted. I had to go to the atm and get a receipt, but on the way back to the checkout line we were in, a man handed me grocery bags with our food in them. I questioned him..cuz i was puzzled why he bought them for me. he simply replied-"I do what the Lord tells me to. "
