OTISPUNK is not really a pop-punk band. In fact, it should be noted that the band members prefer the emphasis to be placed on the word spunk - which is the most appropriate adjective to describe their sound. It's got SPUNK - to say the least!
While consistently avoiding any tangible, restrictive label, OTISPUNK can best be described as powerful, high energy, melodic and catchy pop/rock - as heard from the 60's through the 80's; Mixed with the bite of old school punk rock (like the Ramones and Bad Religion, and even The Police); Then, you add in sonic nods to 90's and 00's alternative rock bands like Jimmy Eat World, No Doubt and Weezer. Add to THAT mix some of the raw energy of Indie pop, and nods to the worlds of progressive rock and classical music - and that's what OTISPUNK sounds like.
It's probably easier to listen to them, don't you think?

hey! we are trying to change something... our new singer erik can't be a full member of dreamscape because the stess to travel a lot is affecting his health. so we decided to work with more than one singer - honestly we will work with even more than two... hopefully you will like that idea! we like it a lot because we will be very flexible and our sound will become even more complex! kind regards! I recently found this band Sonny Bomber. They're fairly new from my understanding & I think they sound pretty good. They're playing at the North Star Bar in Philly on August 11th, so you all should definitely go to that show if you can. I just would like you all to please check them out & if you have a myspace page add them!! They need some more shows as well. I was speaking with the bassist & so it would be pretty awesome if any of you could help out. Also, spread the word about them! It would mean a lot to me & to the band. Thanks so much!!

As you can tell from my page, I am quite The Hooters fan as well--Rob sent me several letters in pharmacy school telling me to stick it out, even though my love for music was all consuming! All these years later, I am still as loyal as 1985. Whoever wrote the lyrics to "sweet revenge", tell them they captured EXACTLY how I have felt about many men in so many relationships. But as you stated so eloquently, people usually get what they deserve! Hope to catch you at a live show when the elbow heals! ROCK ON! Loriann
