Instead, the trio overwhelmed the crowd with a mood and a reconsideration which was rebuild with their new approval. There is nothing more appropriate to embrace both directions since there is strong conections between! XXVI :: ARTIST of the moment (17 05 2008): TAPE: Dreamscape specialists. Abstract soldiers of fortune. The brothers Andreas and Johan Berthling (and Hapna curators) together with their friend Tomas Hallonsten employ the most inviting Swedish 'post-folk' group. Tape produce a sound punctuated by pure, untapped beauty. In Luminarium, they overwhelm again the senses with sharp flavors of spontaneous sonics, coming out of warm electronics, field recordings and many versatile instruments, possessing an efficient linear unity and more melodic approach. With two more (re)releases this year - Opera Plus and Milieu Plus, they've put themselves on a line with other great sound adventurers. XXV :: ALBUM of the moment (01 05 2008): PORTISHEAD 'Third' (Island): Things are not they use to be. Portishead has grabbed their chance to redefine its timeless values instead of trying to enjoy the credits in the shadow of the old glory. Everybody's trip-hop from the second 1/2 of the last century, enhanced the private mood upon deep groove therapy most universally imposed by this band coming from Bristol. In THIRD, they represent new line of devastating beauties, showing an array of progressive instrumental compositions (the role of Beth Gibbons's visceral vocal finds perfect niche in its, too) along with trembling psych-ey aesthetics and hypnotic measurements, not comfortable for afternoon enjoyment. The dark side of the music is shining again.

Always available to make a room for new hot shots of Americana, folk and indie-rock delights with capacity no one else posses. It is a safe ground for wonderers and seekers, a home for distinctive names as Animal Collective, Aoki Takamasa & Tujiko Noriko, Blood On The Wall, Crescent, David Grubbs, Max Richter, Mice Parade, Mum, Vashti Bunyan, Vetiver... Since the very beginning, Otsechka has the privilege to borrow two tracks from two super artists (Hauschka and Silje Nes) for the purpose of its 2 net compilations '5, 4, 3, 2, 1' and 'All Springs' (visit dOSSIER/tracks). XXV :: ARTIST of the moment (03 05 2008): JAMIE LIDELL: "For me making a pop album is experimental." Such a revelation. A person with multitalented prospect and one supreme voice, ready to knock out great vocal attributes, especially concerned with soul, r&b amusements. The Warp's golden chicken has step up on the mainstream stage with his both legs and shows interest to utilize 'Jamaraquai concept" ("There is no business as show business"). Nothing is wrong here if 'having a good time' is having a good wind in the back. Jim has it. However, the "non-experimental" Lidell is having a long break. Now, even Multiply stands as an alternative album comparing to Jim. Until the predictable Lidell wake up again, have another round of easy swallow chords! Jim is paying.

XXIV :: ALBUM of the moment (15 04 2008): MATMOS - Supreme Balloon (Matador): Whatever direction Matmos choose to take, is immediately audible! In SUPREME BALLON the duo changes the skin but not the soul. Their continuing conceptual enthusiasm results in a shape of a synthesizer revelation. Matmos continues to project their sacred vision to unite the rephlex and the logics in one dimension. The two of them connect the mind (where they turn around the variations of Rubik cube of avant music) and the body (the pure amusement) into one mechanism. XXIV :: ARTIST of the moment (17 04 2008): RAYMOND SCOTT: For the first time, Otsechka activates its time machine with purpose to increase the timeless values incorporating not living artists. There is a reason! Born in 1908 he will always be remembered as the mad professor of famous "cartoon music", jazz lover and as an early pioneer, an open minded source and inventor of electronic instruments full of futureness. His "Manhattan Research Inc." is still challenging today's modern music.

In favor of a specific human state, Lullatone has specialized its music to project the most desirable - sleepy time. Shshh... If spoken, all these words have to be whispered. Do have in mind acoustics (Japanese lo-fi aesthetics) with childish gravitation and toy melodies; fragile in the core, capable to replace a content of fairy books along with evocative little symphonies that lead to sweet dreams. The recent release Various "Symbiosis" (find 2 new releases in LPR) fully represents their significance bringing together all possible sharp flavors what'd placed this net-label as a virtual sanctuary of our digital time.
XXIII :: ARTIST of the moment (03 04 2008): AGF / ANTYE GREIE: calls herself e-poetess or powerful poemproducer in lack of a better description. One of the most active figures in Berlin, last year embodied the German language in the blues interpreted Laub's 'Deinetwegen'. This year, 'The Word Are Missing' shows her totally ambitious work to date, exploring speech and spoken word into electronic music, sound installations, pop songs, calligraphy and in the world wide web. She runs her own AGF Producktion.

Matador has also served as the North American licensee for a number of exceptional international acts, including Belle & Sebastian, Mogwai, Boards of Canada, Red Snapper, Arab Strap and others. Matador is always steady ready to continue the indie-rock dream come true no matter how cheap it sounds. Two last year's albums 'S' and 'Nuage' are still shining in the vast constellation of minimal releases bringing Satie's sentiment at front. His most newest involvement includes - Felicia Atkinson & Sylvain Chauveau 'Roman Anglais' for O Rosa.

First, there are three remarkable 2007's releases from Frivolous, Roam The Hello Clouds and the label's boss Pole that should have pointed the label in this category during last year. With Jan Jelinek's newest remixed album this is good chance to welcome them in this section. Second, we live in enormous everyday dubstep craziness. Tons of questionable dub tones are passing to deceive the ears. Scape has been the cultivating engine of the genre from the beginning of the century. Many V.A. produced in the Scape's kitchen were inspirational basis to revolutionize the style beyond the conventional form which led to many individual highlights. But then again... That's why.
