One band could be accapella and the next could be a mariachi band!
What is a rock lottery?
25 local musicians will voluntarily enter their names into a draw; the names will be drawn on the date of the performance.
These musicians will be placed in random bands together. There will be five, five-piece bands.
The musicians must then come together to make 20-30 minutes worth original music to be played THAT EVENING!
This shindig will be hosted by Alan Neal of CBC Radio 1's Bandwidth and is sure to be both professional and sexy.
All the proceeds made will go to the Canadian Organic Growers. More specifically it'll fund a project called 'Growing Up Organic' the goal of which is to build a relationship between local organic farmers and children/youth facilities. They are concerned with environmental and health issues, believing that a healthy local organic agricultural economy is necessary for the environmental and human health of the region.
Growing Up Organic wants to send 4 youth, selected in consultation with the Ottawa Boys and Girls Club houses at Brittania and Hogs's Back, to our new Youth Farm Apprenticeship Camp in July 2008.
