Sounds Like
The spirit of a dead banjo picker stomping on the overdrive pedals of an old station wagon.
One winter night while Matt Lundquist slept in a shack in the rolling hills of Southern Indiana, he was visited by his great, great grand Uncle Otto. In the resulting jam session, Otto gave young Lundquist a slide and taught him hundreds of his songs unheard since the 30's. He woke the next morning with a few embers in the stove to start a fire with and some riffs and hooks to begin collecting the songs of the wandering spirit of Otto Mobile.
His great, great grand Uncle Otto was an itinerant preacher by day, backslidin' roustabout by night. Often the lines blurred in the gospel/blues that Otto could belt out. All he left was letters of his stories, broken poems, samples of sermons and his picture with a banjo. He signed these letters, 'Otto Mobile'.
Three years later, after learning the melodies of the wind through the cracks in that yellowood forest shack, then learning slide in his sleep to the beat of big branch creek in the blue ridge mountains, then deciphering the lyrics of his high Sierra backcountry dreams, Lundquist set out to begin recording the lost musings of Otto Mobile.
