Influences
I love worship! There are many artists who I admire including the following: Rita Springer, David Crowder, Jessie Rogers, Misty Edwards, Vineyard music, Tom Ewing, Chris Tomlin, Matt Gilman, Matt Redman, Leeland etc... There have also been songs that have impacted my life including the following: Child of God by Vineyard worship, Only You by David Crowder, There is a River by Jessie Rogers, Doves Eyes by Misty Edwards, Here in Your Presence by New Life Worship etc... I am drawn towards worship that goes deep! There are certain feelings I get with different songs... it's hard to explain but I'll often times hear a song and know it's one I like when it causes me to want to close my eyes and get on my knees.
I'm in love with Jesus! God is always on my mind... I'm aware of His presence and constantly moved by His beauty. There is so much in life we take for granted but when we draw close to God's heart we begin to understand what is truly important... and being close to God makes you truly come alive! I've lived in Colorado since I was four years old and have absolutely loved it here! I'm one who thoroughly enjoys the outdoors and can't hardly stand it when I have to be inside all day. One of my favorite things to do in life is to go on a run while it's raining! I've always been a dreamer... I've got a list of 172 things I want to do while I'm alive and many of those dreams have already come true. I think everyone should have a dream list! I love to worship! I can't imagine going through life without spending time giving God the glory He is worthy of. I attended the New Life School of Worship in Colorado Springs and was trained by some awesome people including: Ross Parsley, Glenn Packiam, Jared Anderson and more. I left NLSW humbled in knowing that there are many who God can choose to lead His people into His presence... I'm honored that He's chosen me for this time. Along with NLSW I attended Christ for the Nations, a Bible institute in Dallas, Texas. I love CFNI and thank God for a school that allows His Spirit to move! Right now I have the joy of leading worship for the Jr. High and college ministries at my church along with serving on the main service worship team. I help to lead worship for the chapel services at Resurrection Christian School as well. Life is fun! Life is also quite the journey... and thankfully I'm surrendered to Him who is always faithful. God is real! And He is desiring that we His children seek Him and don't give up. I'm praying for more of the Lord in my life and in the world! We are in desperate need of His Spirit and for the hearts of His children to be awakened with a new love for Him! The righteous cry out and the Lord hears them (Psalm 34:17)! It's time that we cry out! I'm learning more about the Lord all the time and with each new glimpse of His heart I receive, I desire to know Him more and to bless Him through worship! Join with me in seeking God and putting a smile on His face as we look to Him and give Him praise!
Kaitlyn, I really like Draw Near. It's my favorite from the record thus far. David Trumbo says the same. You rock! (But you would probably say, aw, nah, Jesus rocks! and he does, sort of - in a way; though I might not put it like that).
I kind of like it too ;) I'm glad it made your mom smile. Someone brought a Charlie Brown Christmas album to a "white elephant" party the other night. We tried real hard to keep it!
