About me: Welcome to Our Label Records!
Founded in 2005 and established with the first (and quickly sold out) release "Give Me A Minute" by our friends The New Mastersounds from Leeds. Distributed by Unique Records from Duesseldorf and Groove Attack from Cologne our 45s can be found in stores all over the planet.
Gu from the Urban Jazz Groove (Bremen, Germany) and his brother Tom were easily enthused by visting the Legendary Deep Funk at Madame Jojo's in London, England over and over again as Tom was living in London the past years. Gu's friendship with Keb Darge helped him find his spot in the Funk world, as Keb made him one of the few German DJs to ever play at the Legendary Deep Funk in 2004, and has been a great support eversince.
It is him and people like Jazzman Gerald, Eddie and Simon of The New Mastersounds, The Sweet Vandals, Osaka Monaurail, Fryer and Henry Storch who make Gu keep pushing funky and soulful sounds.
Now Our Label Records made the connection with Japan's incredible Funk-outfit Osaka Monaurail. Again, the efforts to make things happen were met with great enhusiasm, as they released the first 45 outside of Japan on Our Label Records and connected with Unique to release the album "Reality For The People" in 2007. And since you never change a winning team, Our Label Records, Osaka Monaurail and Unique Records teamed up again in 2008 to release "Amen, Brother" the incredible instrumental LP/CD featuring various classic funk and soul tunes with "Signed, Sealed, Delivered I'm Yours" being the lead-single. Next up: Fresh Funk from Russia!

This is the review in DJ Magazine...
Kaleta & Akoya Afrobeat The Spirit Of Fela Is Alive & Well Mukatsuku Records 4/5 An explosive slice of Afrobeat from Kaleta gets the licensing thumbs up from Mukatsuku, who finally get this gem to the Fela faithful. Originally clocking in at over 14 minutes, its been chopped virtually in half to add more punch and immediacy, whilst on the flip Guynamite and label boss Nik Weston add a more contemporary boogie house twist to the original, in doing so losing none of the vitality or the 'Fela' essence.
We are playing in your area. You have 2 chances this Saturday! 1)Paradise Gardens Festival- it's free and fun! We play around 9pm 2) Passing Clouds -Hackney- Late night afterhours gig.
hope to see you there!
If not- Glastonbury! Friday night- just after Lady GaGa (go figure)
TORTUGA BAR - STORM EP (VIERSIEBEN RECORDS/FINETUNES) OUT NOW!
This online EP release (5 Tracks & Artwork) is not just an appetizer for the album which follows on June 26 - among the album versions of "Storm" (feat. Evan Dando) and "Feel the Love" it contains a remix of "Storm", made by labelmates Monocular, the track "Cavallo Pazzo (Song For Mondo Fumatore To Sing)" feat. Werner Kureinski, former member of Aheads and "Do It Right", a nice version of the Daniel Johnston song performed by Tortuga Bar and Navel.
