About me:

WE HAVE SOME EXCITING NEWS!!

Firstly a big thanks to all your support and kind words over the last 18 months. Because the event has been such a success we've decided after many enquiries to run the event once a month.... Woo hoo!
Unfortunately the council would not permit us to run it at the Star and Shadow Cinema this often so we've met with them and come to a compromise -
we'll continue to run it once every other month from there (sam as always), but we'll also run the event the other 6 months of the year in the Grainger Arcade, in the heart of Newcastle City Centre.
In light of the event alternating between the 2 venues, we have had to change our name (as we're not always in the Star and Shadow Cinema anymore).
We are now the
Make and Mend Market.

Our first event with the new name will take place on the Sunday 19th July (alongside the Ouseburn/Narc Festival). We are running a pilot market in the Grainger Arcade space to trial it first and this will be on Saturday 1st August. Photobucket The Make And Mend Market is an independent bi-monthly Sunday market from 11-4 in the Star And Shadow Cinema, Newcastle Upon Tyne.
The ideal place to shop for something that bit different and grab a bargain.
There will be products from independent designers, crafts people & artists along with 2nd hand & vintage items.
Everything from clothing & jewellery to books & music as well as beautiful items for your home.
* Entry to the public is free.
* A selection of hot and cold drinks will be available from the bar.
* Ace tunes to bop along to whilst you're browsing the stalls.
Money generated from stall hire will go to the great voluntary organisation that is the Star And Shadow Cinema.

The Star And Shadow is located at the top of Ouseburn Valley, opposite the Tanners pub.
The venue is accessible to wheelchair users.

This market is the brainchild of Krista Puranen and Lucy Farfort.

Email: StarAndShadowMarket@googlemail.com for info.

Who I'd like to meet:
Everyone and anyone with an interest in independent markets. Come one come all.
