About Our Market
Its the first monthly event of its kind in Newcastle and was started by an interior designer and an illustrator who wanted a regular platform to showcase their work.
Each event has a big variety of stalls with new sellers at each offering handmade, 2nd hand & vintage goods from fashion, homewares and art to music, books and food.
The market highlights new creative talent and gives individuals a space to recycle quality goods no longer in use and stop them ending up in landfill.
We started as a bi-monthly event in the Star and Shadow Cinema in Ouseburn. A venue which was built and is run entirely by volunteers. If you're not familiar with the area the Star and Shadow cinema is located at the top of Ouseburn valley opposite Tanner pub. Approx 5 mins from town towards Byker.
Due to the success of the market we have now spread our wings and we are now open every month alternating between the Star and Shadow and the Grainger Arcade a beautiful Victorian building in the heart of Newcastle City Centre (approx 2 mins from Monument) NE1 5QE.
Both venues are accessible to wheelchair users.
If you are interested in having a stall or just want a chat please email: StarAndShadowMarket@googlemail.com for info.
