Satisfaction.
“What is satisfaction,” you ask?
Good question.
Webster’s defines satisfaction as the “cause or means of being or becoming satisfied.” It is to have your needs or desires fulfilled, it is to please or be pleased. Everyone needs their own personal satisfaction. It’s human nature to seek out that which pleases us. Is life not a never-ending quest for satisfaction then? We all take some sort of pleasure from things in our life, be it a book, a movie, a person, a place, a thing, or even a song. We all get something from these satisfactions that shape who we are as individuals. Yet, human nature also restricts us, and does not allow us to obtain complete satisfaction; we will never be entirely content with what we have.
Life is tough. It is a constant journey with its ups and downs, twists and turns and the search for your satisfaction may not be an easy one. It may seem futile at times, when you are left empty and alone. But at other times, it will leave you feeling full of life and on top of the world. No matter what, we must keep searching for satisfaction. It is what keeps us moving forward as a people and it is what keeps the world functioning.
Good or bad, personal satisfaction is behind everything and it always will because we all want, no matter what it is, OUR SATISFACTION.
