Our Voices Matter! (OVM) is an alternative media collective composed of artists, activists, writers, filmmakers, musicians, and like-minded visionaries based in the Bay Area. The purpose of OVM is to collectively develop an online video magazine that engages, educates, entertains, and empowers local and global communities who share a vibrant vision and commitment to grass roots organizing and cultural, economic, and environmental sustainability. Through the use of a multimedia online video magazine, OVM promotes multimedia communication as a catalyst for personal, professional, and institutional transformation.
Who I'd like to meet: YOU!! Welcome to the bay. As you descend into this land of cultural bypasses, you discover the voices of individuals living a lifestyle of conformity and rebellion. The more superficial things become, one, in the attempt to penetrate the surface, seeks a new way of living. Extending and connecting their experience of reality, within this new order of American Empire, ran by a corrupt banking system of gangsters. Us consumers, continue to buy out our desires and materialize some type of happiness, sculpted by our fears and insecurities. At last, here comes OVM here to speak to you and for you, express your doubt, your anger and love. As we stand up and be counted, we overwhelm the propaganda machines, setting our perspectives straight, breaking through this alien-nation of metaphysical slaves, who are dragged down a timeline that was created to bind us to the lies of our age. In this dark time of terror and terrorism, we can no longer hope blindly, but step into the shining light of knowing, what’s really going on. Are we ready to be real, to understand this situation, American nightmaring to a means; serving as the voice of an everyday people, crying out for peace? Let us begin!

Please come celebrate with us and get your dance on at our album release festival on AUGUST 8 (08-08-08) at ASHKENAZ in Berkeley!!
It will feature performances by Last Legal Magic, Abdoulaye Diakate, MamaCoatl, and traditional West African and Colombian dance.
Album artist Tobias Greene (drawinginthedark. com) will be painting faces, and Nathan Hiatt will be painting on stage as we rock out... there's a rumor of bike-powered smoothies, too - boo-ya!
The festivities will kick off at 8:08pm with Drummm, a hands-on facilitated drummm workshop.
