Outback Hippies

Bio:

The Outback Hippies have been around for 13 years and have performed all over Australia, New Zealand and the world!

Audiences warm to the bands unique blend of classic rock, roots & blues and retro music, which has made them a popular band at festivals and as a support act to the 'stars'.

Many of the songs they play are classic rock songs of the 60's & 70's interpreted always in a fresh, modern and exciting way. An Outback Hippie audience is always on their feet dancing or 'air guitaring' along with one of Pete's 'ripping' and inspired solos.

The band have worked and toured with such legends as:

Status Quo; Phil Emmanuel; Steve Grace; Rolf Harris (yes it's true) and have performed at many festivals including:

Black Stump; Forest Edge; AGMF (as the peter dixon band i.e. Peter is lead singer and guitarist in both bands) and also the Woodford Folk Festival to name a few.

The much anticipated Live DVD of the Hippies concert at Black Stump Chritian Arts Festival in '05, is due for release soon and features 11 rolicking rock and roll covers as well as 2 originals - demo'd here at myspace!!!
