Well what can I say, I'm a website. It isn't so great for my dating life. I'm online 24/7, and I have lots of cool members. People join up for a profile on me and meet other people who are into the Outdoors. Outdoorzy.com is a social network where outdoorzy folks can come and share stories, pictures, gear reviews, trip reports, plan trips, find events, etc. etc.
So if your into outdoor activities, love music, concerts, outdoor races, or outdoor sports, drop by the site and check it out, you won't be disappointed. Plus it's FREE so there's nothing to loose.
Who I'd like to meet: Lance Armstrong, Ed Viesturs, Bodie Miller, Tao Berman, Katie Brown, Jamling Tenzing Norgay, and pretty much anybody else who rocks the outdoorzy world!
Help me out here everyone, I'm looking for other organizations anywere in the world that do what we do. I have tried and tried to find them but no luck. I'll list the things BRV does and if you find something or are similar please let me know.
BRV cleans up trash from the river and recycles all we can at the end of the float. We are on the river cleaning from the inside out instead of on the banks but we do clean the outer limits. We do organized group clean-ups which is not really anything new. We are on the river 6-8 hours per day, 3 days per week, every week, for 3 months because there are more than 100,000 people per year who use the Boise river and it get's trashed in one day. We do public service such as, we patched and pumped more than 150 rafts, and performed more than 90 river rescues per year. We have a program to get people with disabilities and disadvantaged kids into the outdoors and into conservation. (actually had a blind guy pick up trash and a woman with only one leg find the first crutch we ever found while she was picking up trash, how ironic is that?) BRV is an ALL volunteer organization with more than 1000 volunteers signed up. (doesn't meen they all show up of course)
anyway with a network like this I'm bound to find what I'm looking for. I'll post this in other spaces also. thanks in advance.
Happy birthday, sez the DIY project known as Sad Music for Happy Humans. Keeping dreaming differently. Here are some free mp3 downloads to assist you in doing so:
So many people still don't understand Riverboarding. We do not use a boat to travel upstream at 30+ mph. Riverboarding is powered by a bungee system that slingshots you upstream. You use the river current to stretch the bungee. Once the bungee is done pulling you upstream, it releases from the board allowing you to do many boardsport tricks. Once your ride is done, float back downstream to the end of the bungee, hook the board to the bungee, stretch it and ride again. Surf all day long! I am still getting Emails asking how to hook the board to the boat. No $40,000 boat or $4 a gallon gas required - www. BANSHEERIVERBOARDS. COM
