| General | Movies, politics, tennis, current events, LGBT equal rights. Am a KPCC addict with Terry Gross my favorite interviewer on Earth. | | Music | I'm so old school, stuck in the 60s and 70s. Love all the Motown stuff, love the Beatles. Still love the evergreens: Elton John, The Eagles, Rod Stewart, James Taylor, Carole King, Cher, Barbra Streisand, Frank Sinatra, Diana Ross, Queen, Aretha and love Broadway soundtracks. But of the newer, younger artists, I really like Maroon 5, Michael Buble and Norah Jones. | | Movies | Some of my favorites this year have been "Sweeney Todd," "Into the Wild," "Juno," "3:10 to Yuma," "Eastern Promises," "Waitress." Movies I could watch over and over again (and have) include "Breakfast at Tiffanys," "Brokeback Mountain," "Beaches," "Postcards from the Edge," "Grease," "The Ref," and "Steel Magnolias." | | Television | Favorite shows right now are "Brothers & Sisters," "Ugly Betty," "Gossip Girl," "Desperate Housewives," "Californication," "The Closer" and "Dexter." Never miss "This Week with George Stephanopolis" if I can help it or "Washington This Week" on PBS.
Classic show faves include "I Love Lucy," "Mary Tyler Moore Show" "Designing Women" "Sex and the City" | | Books | I love autobiographies. Some of the best I've ever read are Katherine Graham's "Personal History," "By Myself" by Lauren Bacall, and Paul Monnette's "Becoming a Man: Half a Life Story." Read non-fiction mostly, there's so many real-life events to learn about. But when by the pool in Palm Springs, give me a good, trashy paperback! | | Heroes | Tennis legend Billie Jean King for her endless fight for equal rights for all and for helping to change the world. |
