About me:
Expletive Included
Hey there
This is the profile for myspaces first blog magazine. Okay well thats a big claim right there as there have been many other magzines to spring from myspace and its bloggers, but this is the first to use multiple bloggers to produce a magazine format blog all in one blog. No click on this guy, or go here, or vist this page instead its all in one place for you to read. We also boast an impressive rosta of writers you may of heard of them, You! The bulk of each issue isn't made up of a team of people writing exclusive blogs, it isn't about reposting polished versions of older blogs, the core element to each and every issue is made up of articles submitted by the readers.
Each week we will set a theme for the next weeks issues and people can send in articles on that theme, from them we will select 3-4 to go in each issue with links to the writers blog, profile and subscribe page. In return all we ask is you tell people your work is here. Everyone is eligible to enter work to Expletive Included as long as it fits the guide lines listed below. We do not pick personal favourites or only choose friends and we bear no grudge from any other bloggers, this page and this magazine are neutral territory so if you have any problems with any writers we only ask that you deal with those issues elsewhere.
So You Want To Contribute
Guidelines
- Article must be 300-600 words long -
With 6-7 bloggeres each issue anything more than 600 would just become to big, its not that we want to stem creativity but if everyone wrote a 1200 word piec that would be 7500 words right there.
- No attacking other bloggers -
Simply put this is not the place for that. If you ahev a beef with another blogger you dealk with it elsewhere any attack son another blogger will result in your submission not being considered
- Original Content -
We are not a place to reprint your favourite blogs or other peoples work any repeats will be removed and if it is another bloggers work we will no longer accept submissions from you
- No Picture Blogs -
We may change this later but right now with the format we can't use a picture blog. sorry if thats your forte but we may find a way to include them later
Send Submissions To expletiveincluded@hotmail.co.uk
Any content is the property of the contributer if you have any problem with any articles submitted please contact the writer responsible
The Obvious Questions
Are you trying to be a new Pointless Banter or Blue Doodle? -
The simple answer is no. The long answer is that both those sites are external from myspace on webspace people have bought that they fund by selling ad space. We are not trying to break away from myspace and are not making any money of the advertising and we don't have any exclusive rota of writers. Our main goal is to produce a blog with a magazine type format and use it to give bloggers a chance to widen their audience. We actually have more in common with a project like underblog than something like blue doodle or pointless banter.
So if you don't have a rota of writers whos producing this? -
Anyone is able to contribute to an issue, at the end of each week we will put out a theme or topic and people can send their blogs to us and we will put the best 2-3 in the next issue.
So does that mean week after week we will be reading the same bloggers? -
Not at all, we have made it a rule that no guest bloggers will be repeated within 4 weeks of themselves. This means that each and every week there will be new bloggers making up the guest bloggers section
You said theres no money here so will you be paying for contributions? If not what does someone get from submitting work? -
There is no money involved at all with Expletive Included, everyone who submits work does so out of choice and to recieve exposure to a broader audience than they may already be reaching
So let me get this straight you guys are just going to reprint old blogs as new and get the bulk of your issues from other peoples hard work? -
Any writing submitted by us or guest bloggers we hope to be original content, while we don't have the time to search down every blog submitted to make sure its not a reprint of their own or somebody elses work, if it was brought to our attention that it was a reprint the article would be removed and if in the case of it being someone elses work we would not accept entries from that writer again. We have a few goals and aims but plagurism is not one of them.
What are your goals and aims? -
Our first goal is each week to produce a magazine format blog that people will want to read. Our second aim is to help bloggers increase their readership and get exposed to bloggers whose paths they may not normally cross. There are links to the blogs and profiles on any contributer both on this profile and on the issue. Any further goal would be to challenge ourselves to meet deadlines and write better blogs.
Why you guys? Do you think you are that special that you should get your own magazine? -
Why us? well the only answer I can give is that we thought to do it and had the resources and readerships to attempt it. We don't have inflated egos about ourselves, our ability or our body of work. This is not an exercise in "look at me im great!" or some stepping stone to a book deal. We are doing this because we can and because each one of us owes whatever notoriety/respect/praise/hatred (delete where applicable) we get to the bloggers that helped us. We just want to offer the same leg up in the blogging community to others who maybe weren't here when myspace was a nicer less drama filled place.
