vandorne Johnson, aka Terry 'The Outlaw' Ganzie, is a native of the parish of Hanover. After being an amateur, he broke out on the scene with the song 'A Yah Wi Born, A Yah Wi Live' which was produced by Dave Kelly on the Penthouse label back in 1991. Many singles followed such as 'Sex Class', 'Play Big', 'Treat Woman Right', 'Hardware and 'Lumber' and much more.
He was very hot on the scene in 1992 as one of the trendsetting Penthouse Crew, which featured acts such as Cutty Ranks, Mad Cobra, Buju Banton, Terror Fabulous, Wayne Wonder, Beres Hammond, Marcia Griffiths and such. 'Whosoever Will' was the song that put Terry on the international reggae scene as a prominent member of the deeja fraternity. It played a role in getting him a spot on the track 'Tribal War'. This cut also featured Tony Rebel and Buju Banton and was released on Buju Banton's album 'Voice Of Jamaica'.
Deejays such as Daddy U-Roy, Josey Wales, Brigadier Jerry and Supercat inspired him to become a dancehall DJ and entertainer. Growing up in Jamaica he was fascinated by his cousin Recka Dread, who was a member of the Roots Vibration band. Terry always listened to the chants of his cousin's redemption songs and imitated them. In 1980 at the age of 13, his cousin gave him a chance to perform at a show in a local Hanover district with a crowd of over 600 people.
The Outlaw was a bit shy, but his cousin Recka didnt know that a star was born. Since the age of thirteen, Terry has been performing on local sound systems in Hanover, such El Chanta and Black Stepper. Six years later he moved to Montego Bay where he found work on sound systems such as Golden Hawk, Hurricane, Super Soul and Peices. This then launched him on the top sound system in Montego Bay, Electroforce.
Being recognised as a top DJ in Montego Bay in 1989, a friend, Sculy Banton introduced Terry to Top Rankin Records. The label did not hesitate to record Terry's first single 'More Vibes' which got him recognition as a recording artist.
Terry's second album, 'Nuff Reward' released in 1993, was a definite winner, and was one of the best sellers of that year. With no proper management behind The Outlaw, and still reluctant to sign with any management team, he has been recording classics for all the top producers in the island and even did a combination with Wailing Souls for a single on their album on the Columbia label.
After nearly two years without a major show performance locally, The Outlaw has now found the need to get involved in the business side of the music. He recently incorporated his new Outlaw Productions and the Dirty Dozen distribution network. its primary objective is to help to develop the talent of many young artists who have shown great potential but have been neglected by the upper echeleon of the music fraternity

the specter of racial discrimination which has for so long cast its dark and evil shadow over much of this globe is slowly disappearing.
Men are coming increasingly to be judged by their talents and abilities rather than the less meaningful and far more superficial standards of race and religion.
But there yet remain those who in their bigotry and ignorance resist this flooding tide, and it is against these that our efforts must be directed. We have work to do.

Leadership does not mean domination. The world is always well supplied with people who wish to rule and dominate others. The true leader is a different sort; he seeks effective activity which has a truly beneficient purpose. He inspires others to follow in his wake, and holding aloft the torch of wisdom, leads the way for society to realize its genuinely great aspirations.
