Out on Screen's Interests
|
| General | >Documenting Queer History - Out On Screen acts as producer, commissioning new works that document some little-known histories from Vancouver's queer community. Collaboration is the rule, and you'll see spanky new works every year until 2010 - watch out for Ivan E. Coyote and Veda Hillie's Brainchild in 2007.
Out in Schools - We're bringing queer movies to high schools across the Lower Mainland. Don't you wish we were doing this when you were a teenager? Since September 2005 we've reached over 1500 students! By using the power of film, we're making schools safer!
Co-Presentations - In collabortation with other community and arts groups, we co-present films throughtout the calendar year. DOXA, the Vancouver Jewish Film Festival, Reel 2 Real International Film Festival for Youth and Granville Island's Winterruption are just a few of teh groups we've worked with to bring queer films to the screen. Watch our website for upcoming screenings.
>FirstOUT Video Project - Do you have a story you'd like to see on the screen? This is an excitting project that pairs established filmamkers with first-time videomakers to create new video works. Forms are online. If you've never made a video but always wanted to, this is for you!
