About me:
Welcome to the myspace page for "Outside the Green Zone".
The new constitution drawn up with help from the US, effectively puts Iraq under Shira/Islamic law. This allows clerics to define and shape laws without checks and balance. Recently Grand Ayatollah Ali Al-Sistani issued a Fatwa or religious edict that called for the death of gays and lesbians in the "worse possible way". What followed was a full attack by Sistani Badr brigades as well factions within the U.S. trained security and police forces.
The anthology is a combination of background information, action items, and of course some wonderful poems written as a reaction to this horrible situation. Contribution poets include. Franklin Abbott, Lisa Allender, C. Cleo Creech, Collin Kelley, and Steven Reigns.
Books can be purchased with a contributions or a pledge of advocacy (writing your congressman, etc.). Email me for more info.
