OutZone is a totally safe & confidential service provided by the youthwork team at
PACE - London's leading health & well-being charity for lesbian, gay and bisexual people. OutZone is supported by Comic Relief; Haringey & Enfield Council Joint HIV Prevention Funding; Barnet Primary Care Trust and
Haringey Teaching Primary Care Trust.
OutZone is an excellent way to meet lots of new people of your own age, find real support if you're just 'coming out' and access information and advice on a whole range of issues...including sex and relationships, sexual health worries, bullying, homophobia and family conflict, drug and/or alcohol concerns and general health & well-being.
Our primary aim is to help gay and bisexual young men in London feel happy, healthy and included.
The staff at OutZone will be someone you can talk to in confidence - and they recognise that your sexuality is just one part of what makes you who you are. You’ll need to be aged 25 or under to access OutZone (and you may be asked to prove your age & identity). Our groups are a safe and friendly, way to meet people and make friends. Our existing members always try to make sure new members feel welcomed, comfortable and relaxed.
On an regular Friday evening (if there is such a thing!), between 16 and 25 young men usually meet up at OutZone in North London - often more, but occasionally less. OutZone meets EVERY Friday evening between 6.30pm - 9.30pm at our base in Islington, North London (Caledonian Road Tube, Piccadilly Line- 3 minutes). You will need to email or call for our regular weekly venue address - to ensure safety for all members..
“The OutZone Youth Project has provided FREE confidential* advice, information and essential peer support to many hundreds of young men throughout North London since Valentines Day 1997. The OutZone Youth Project was initially formed in response to local & government targets relating to HIV prevention, mental health & suicide, all areas where gay & bisexual young men are known to be at risk'

Why you might want to come along and/or get involved:
* OutZone can offer lots of support for everyone, at all levels of coming out and those who are questioning their sexuality. Our weekly youth group offers a varied programme of social events and health & well-being information sessions, and is a safe place to meet up with or make friends away from the 'commercial' gay scene - especially if you are still coming to terms with your sexuality and/or identity.
* Confidential one to one sessions with a member of staff are available by appointment (outside of group times) and can help you to deal with any issues that may be impacting on the way you live your life. You might also just want to meet up for a one to one before you come along to the group for the first time, to find out more about what we do.
