Two generations of an extended Oakville musical family combine to deliver original music and popular covers.
Overland Express have been around in various forms since the early 1990s. The longtime core lineup includes brothers-in-law Steve Moffatt (guitar, lead vocals) and Tom McNally (bass guitar, backing vocals), along with family friend Bruce Richards (guitar, vocals).
The current OE lineup also includes two second generation musicians - Graeme Moffatt (keyboards) and Colin McNally (drums).
In addition to gigs at pubs, private events and music festivals, Overland Express often donate their time, talents, and occasionally their PA system, to a variety of community events and charity fundraisers in the Oakville, ON area, including: Relay for Life, Taking Steps Against Breast Cancer, CharterAbility / Rick Hansen Wheels In Motion, Salvation Army Christmas Fund, Oakville Parent-Child Centre, and the Oakville Santa Claus Parade (Canadian Cancer Society - Oakville Unit float).
The band has occasionally been booked at charity events under the moniker "The Last Minute Band", dating back to an event where they were booked as a replacement for another act who literally dropped out at the last minute!
Bruce, Steve, and Tom collectively appear on 3 tracks on the first Fred Eaglesmith Tribute CD, 20 Odd Hollers (Soda Machine, Alcohol & Pills, I Like Trains).
